Introduction
Nearly thirty years ago, Krijn de Best and Marion Hoogesteger discovered a beautiful former water mill in La Chapelle-Montbrandeix (Haute-Vienne), on the border of the Limousin and Périgord regions. They are now offering this characterful estate for sale — an idyllic location particularly suited for a luxury retreat or chambres d'hôtes.
When we bought this beautiful double water mill in 1996, we intended to use it as a holiday home. Upon completion, the property turned out to be much larger than we thought. We enjoyed it so much that in 2000 we moved to France permanently and started renovating the property.

Rare double water mill
The water mill is located at the crossroads of the D64 and D22, in the heart of the Parc naturel régional du Périgord-Limousin. The main building is a rare double water mill, one of the few ever built for two families.
The mill no longer operates, but two granite sinks still remind us of bygone times. The building is long and built on a slope, which means:
